1 | Prep & Clean

• Wash hands and dry thoroughly

• Use provided alcohol wipes to clean nail surface, remove oils, and remove any remaining moisture*

• allow nails to fully dry

2 | Open

• Open nail strip vacuum pack

• Remove clear protective layer

3 | Select

• Select and peel the nail strips sizes that best fit your nails

• Ideal strip size should leave .5mm - 1mm of space between nail strip and cuticle/skin around nails

• Pick sizes that do not allow nail strips to touch cuticle or skin around nails

4 | Apply

• Each strip includes a more round and more square end; choose the shape that best fits your nail bed shape.

• Apply starting at the base of your nail

• Do not allow nail strips to touch cuticle or skin around nail - this can lead to loose/lifting edges, premature falling off, and moisture entrapment*

5 | Press Down

• Apply pressure down the strip’s center first, then move pressure outward toward the outer edges - this can reduce the chance of trapping airbubbles

6 | Remove Excess

option 1

• Bend excess of nail strip material downward over nail tip

• Use included file to file off excess nail strip material - filing flat against the nail edge with across or downward motions

option 2

• Use nail trimmers/clippers to carefully remove the bulk of excess nail strip material from nail tip

• Use included file to smooth remaining excess strip down to nail edge - filing flat against the nail edge with across or downward motions

Temperature

• Store and use at room temperature

• If the package has been shipped in cold weather, allow the product to warm to room temperature before applying

Avoid Excessive Heat - Liquid or Dry

• Avoid excessive heat for 6-8 hours after applying; it will loosen adhesive.

• Soaking i.e. baths, showers, hot tubs, dishes, stovetop/cooking, etc.

Use after Opening

• For best results use immediately after opening

Lotions & Sunscreens

• Some lotion and sunscreen chemicals can breakdown the strips nontoxic protective top layer making nail strips feel tacky (see Clear Coat)

Clear Coat

• Apply a clear topcoat over strips for added protection

• For best results, wait to apply top coat for 6-8 hours after applying - allowing plenty of time for the strips to fully adhere

Removal

• Use nail polish remover with Acetone to remove nail strips

• Peeling off strips is not recommend - peeling off strips can damage your nails, removing protective layers

Avoid Bubbles/Bubbling

• Air bubbles becoming trapped while applying - apply to the base of the nail first. Apply pressure at the base and slide that pressure up through the center of the nail strip to the nail tip. Then, apply pressure from the center of the strip to the sides/edges. This should help push air out preventing air from becoming trapped under the nail strip.
  

• Air bubbles developing by stretching material - Tough Girls strips are thick. We don't recommend stretching the material because this can cause discoloring of the strip and thin the material, leading to micro-bubbles.
  

• Air bubbles due to ridged nail surface trapping air - Lightly buff or smooth out the nail surface prior to applying the strips. Customers have also used surface fillers to smooth the surface before applying.
